Software Engineer (Visual Basic for Applications)
The department is responsible for the installation process of advanced DUV systems in accordance with strict quality norms and customer needs.

As part of the company you will assist our software engineers and develop new functionalities in our existing software tools. You will be involved at all stages of the software development process; specifying, designing, testing and integrating the advanced software for use in our world-leading products.
The software engineer is responsible for creating clear specifications on requirements, making efficient design choices, to 'make it happen' by also implementing the design and verifies the implementation. Next to this, a software engineer is responsible for providing effort estimates for the work at hand and identifies dependencies on others. Together with his team he or she schedules his or her activities and agrees when to deliver these deliverables. The software delivered is documented and qualified by means of alpha/beta pilot testing. Customer satisfaction is the number one driver for the company and thus for every software engineer.
Bachelor or Master level with an education in Computer Science.
-Demonstrable expertise in Visual Basic and Excel Macros;
-Affinity with databases and network/servers;
-At least 3 years of experience in software development;
-Object oriented programming;
-Identify and address resource/help requests;
-Experienced in working in (agile) team environment;
-Experience in the high-tech industry and/or in factory automation has a preference;
-Experience in other international organizations has a preference;
-Relevant background in SAP is a plus.
-Good knowledge of the English language;
-Pro-active, goal-orientated, decisive, takes ownership;
-Strong communicator with a pragmatic attitude;
-Real team player with quality orientation;
-Continuous improvement mindset, following up on quality issues;
-Excels under pressure;
-Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Context of the position
In this challenging position you will be expected to work independently at our HQ in Veldhoven. You will work together with 2 other software engineers – who’s primary function comprise a System Install Owner (SIO). However, they also act as the link between the department’s stakeholders with regard to software development. SIO’s work 50% of their time at local offices and customer sites all over the world where they oversee the installation-phase until signoff (Handover to Customer Support). As a software engineer in our department you will help make the execution of the SIO job more easy by providing effective solutions, focusing on quality-, safety-, budget- and cycle time improvement.
