The Infrastructure Project Manager plans, controls and executes a project or set of related projects to meet identified business needs and deliver business value, through acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills.
This role involves delivering small and medium sized Connectivity Service Development projects and/or Connectivity deployment projects with low to moderate risk and complexity. You will be accountable for all aspects of successful on budget and ontime project delivery of the projects assigned to you.
This role will utilise your skills within Project Management, Risk Management, Benefits Management and Change Implementation Planning and Management. On a daily basis you collaborate with the Connectivity Portfolio team (internal customer) and a range of stakeholders including business managers, service providers and onshore & offshore suppliers. Your team as well as your scope is Global and remote in nature.
The Infrastructure Project Manager has the following accountabilities:

  • Select and use fit for purpose project management methods to manage the project lifecycle.
  • Works closely with the connectivity portfolio team to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI
  • Assures successful backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.
  • Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close all aspects of the project lifecycle as defined by the client Project and/or Agile Delivery Framework.
  • Mobilize and lead a team with the necessary skills, composed of a mixture of staff and suppliers across organisational boundaries.
  • Create and validate financial forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and expenditures.
  • Actively identifies and removes impediments to ensure delivery of service development deliverables based on the service/product roadmaps and timetables established by the connectivity portfolio team
  • Rigorously manage scope through a structured change management process to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters with focus on delivering the business benefits.
  • Create and validate financial forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and expenditures.
  • plans and engagements are developed and executed.
  • Proactively analyze variances against plan to assess trends threatening agreed scope, time, cost, and quality commitments.  Identify signs that a project may be at risk and escalate quickly and appropriately. 
  • Is and stays current on key connectivity technology developments that could involve a change to or improvement of products managed
  • Apply project management and IT control/assurance methodologies, standards and processes including architecture, information risk management, and transition to support. Work with information risk management staff to ensure new technology and services deliverables are secure by design.
  • Manage a change control process in relation to the project/programme, gain agreement for revisions to the scope from project sponsors, and ensure projects continue to meet business objectives. Evaluating and making recommendations/decisions on technical options as appropriate.
  • Provide effective leadership to assigned project staff ensuring compliance with project standards, processes, and controls.

  • Execute and drive decisions despite limited information.
  • Motivate a team while removing barriers so that the team can complete its objectives while managing pressure.
  • Work virtually in a diverse global organization and with major outsourced suppliers of infrastructure and application services.
  • Tailor stakeholder communications material and level of detail to the audience.
  • Work in a team of local project managers to further extent and share projects, technological and organizational knowledge.

Functie eisen

  • New Service development; Telecom & connectivity
  • A 4-year degree in IT or a related field.
  • Agile project experience
  • PMI PMP Certification
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • You have a successful delivered a number of small/medium sized infrastructure projects, managed through to completion.
  • Experience in delivering new service/product development in connectivity technology domain.
  • You should be able to document and provide roadmaps/design documents as required
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the IT industry with at least 4 years in Project management.
  • You should be familiar with a range of analysis, modelling and design methods and have good current knowledge of IT standards, methodologies, applications and trends.
  • Preferred: Prince2, PMI, ScrumMaster certification
